Time To Take Stock

Hi all,

So instead of a rant, I want to interact.  I've been doing this blog for close to eight years now.  Yes, I'm not positing on a very regular basis and the reasons are (a) fatigue at complaining about the same things time and time again and (b) a lack of perceived response when I do post.  Am I reaching people?  Am I making a difference?  Am I just tilting at windmills?
So I'd like to open it up to my public, assuming there is one.
What do you like about the blog?  Why don't more people comment?  What should I change or address?
Don't be shy!

While we don't agree on everything, as might be expected when a Conservative Jew reads an Orthodox blog, I appreciate your "voice-of-reason" approach. I hope you continue to post.

I read, but I very rarely comment on blogs. Enjoy your take on things, which often matches mine to a large degree. Nice to see someone talking (what I consider to be) sense.

Keep calm and carry on!

I think you are somewhat Hareidi yourself because you try to tell us what to think. Anyways, whatever you say is usually good food for thought.

I like it when I agree and when I don't. You take the time to think about the topics you bring up. There is a shortage of blogs in this vein now; I guess many of the bloggers moved on to other things. So we ought to treasure the remaining ones like yours.

By now, you may have noticed that you're not so easy to categorize. People looking for conventionally labeled, predictable opinions to reinforce their own may have wondered what to make of this.

Please keep going. Don't give up. I enjoy reading, though usually just nod my head in agreement, and have nothing to say (because I usually only comment when I disagree with someone).

I like reading but I rarely comment I think if you would attach your real name to your blog people would feel it is more genuine and feel more interested in engaging

I would like to see articles that review and grade pro-Israel web sites. For example:

Israel is being buried-alive under an
avalanche of media bias and false accusations.

These web sites can help refute those
biases and false accusations:

I enjoy reading your blog posts. I mostly agree with your hashkafic approach but I've been bored recently with your preoccupation with Open Orthodoxy. Mostly, I think when you don't post for a couple months you lose people. When you didn't post for about two months (mid-Aug to Nov) I stopped checking in. Then I checked in again recently and saw I missed several posts. Regarding comments - I've commented in the past, but the lack of interactive discussion in the comments has discouraged me from commenting - so I can certainly understand why you feel discouraged from writing. (I guess it's a chicken/egg problem.)

In any event, I appreciate your blog. Thank you.

As a gentile, I find your blog most educational, a window into the world of Judaism. I must begin using a Hebrew dictionary when I read it. I agree that more regular posts would help - you've been on a whirlwind lately! At some point I may try my hand at a naive reply to your gloss on Christianity as inimical to Judiasm - you may have a point there but there is much cooperation and historical alliance that has to be ignored to posit enmity, I suspect.

Keep up the good work
